Scott Ellis, MBA
This program gives me a once in a lifetime opportunity to deepen my understanding and gain different perspectives of the US healthcare industry from best and brightest business and medical school minds in the world.
I currently serve as Sr. Director, Dermatology Marketing for the DUPIXENT brand at Sanofi. I am married to a beautiful wife and a proud dad of two beautiful and amazing daughters who are in college. We also have a family dog, a Chocolate Lab named Luna. I love traveling, meeting new people, listening to and making music (especially electronic), working out, playing tennis, and watching Netflix and YouTube.
This program gives me a once in a lifetime opportunity to deepen my understanding and gain different perspectives of the US healthcare industry from best and brightest business and medical school minds in the world. Equally important and impactful are the interactions, insights and conversations that I have had with my Dartmouth classmates who are all friendly, extremely smart and have extensive healthcare leadership experiences.
What has been the best part of the program for you – so far?
I thoroughly enjoyed every class, however I particularly felt most comfortable in the live, residential sessions because of the highly engaging in-person interactions during class between classmates and the professors.
Has your job changed since starting the program?
I have not changed roles since entering the program, but it has broadened my view of the healthcare landscape and helped me to gain a higher level of appreciation on the dynamics, complexities and challenges in the US healthcare system. I believe that this program will not only prepare me for my career journey but will help me become a bigger advocate for improved healthcare and better overall leader.
How have you used the MHCDS experience/skills/knowledge you have gained so far?
Yes, I believe that I have benefited in several ways. I have sharpened and improved my skills in operations management, strategy, data analysis, and accounting/finance. I've also gained a greater understanding of effective communications, human centered innovation, and healthcare economics. All of these skills are relevant to my current responsibilities.
Is there anything else that you would tell a friend or colleague who was considering the MHCDS program?
It’s a hidden secret. It’s probably the best Masters’ program in the country for Healthcare leaders who are not looking for status quo but desire to make a difference and improve healthcare delivery in the US.
